About Me
I’ve always believed that stories have the power to change perspectives. My own story has shaped the way I see the world, and it’s why I do what I do today.
After studying at university, I began my career in Sales with Cisco, where I was fortunate to meet customers across industries and learn how technology connects people. It was fast-paced, target-driven, and rewarding, but it was also during this time that my life changed in ways I could never have imagined.
I suffered a traumatic brain injury
While in Las Vegas on a work trip, I suffered a traumatic brain injury that led to epilepsy and aphasia (a speech and language disability). Suddenly, communication, the very foundation of my career in sales, became my greatest challenge. I quickly realised how unprepared most organisations are when it comes to including people with disabilities. Despite my skills, I felt isolated and sidelined.
1 in 5 people live with a disability
That experience made one thing very clear: businesses are missing out on a huge percentage of society by not being inclusive. Roughly 1 in 5 people live with a disability, yet too many organisations fail to adapt, understand, or make space for that talent.
